Kaushik Rajan
Applied Scientist & Researcher
I have nearly a decade of engineering and applied science experience in the tech industry, including four years at Amazon where I developed production-level forecasting models that predicted billions in advertising revenue. I hold a Master's in Computer Science from NC State University. My current work involves independent research across several applied AI verticals, including reinforcement learning, computer vision, and agentic systems. My primary focus is translating theoretical insights from these fields into practical and user-centric web and mobile (iOS) applications. This site is a repository for my work, including technical articles, research publications, and the applications I develop.

My Approach
From Theory...
My research explores how to make AI systems more cooperative and intelligent. I use principles from mechanism design and behavioral economics to create models that can predict, explain, and align with human decision-making. This foundational work is driven by a desire to build fairer and more effective AI.
...to Practice
I believe research gains its full value when applied. I transform theoretical insights into intuitive iOS applications that address specific user needs. This is where complex concepts like multimodal AI and offline-first architecture become practical tools for everyday use.
